FAQs

Q: What should I know about different approaches to therapy?

A: A therapeutic approach refers to the framework and techniques a therapist uses to guide treatment. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These methods help clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns and live in alignment with their values. The therapeutic approach matters because it shapes how you and your therapist work together toward your goals and influences the strategies used to support your growth.

Q: What are the steps to setting up a therapy appointment?

  1. To schedule your first session, you can email me at isabellegrenierlmhc@gmail.com or book here. You can set up a free, 15-minute consult to discuss what you are seeking therapy for, ask questions about the process, and learn more about my style to confirm it is the right fit.

  2. Prior to your first session, I will send you over a few forms to fill out via email. These forms include practice policies, payment information, and a brief intake form. These forms should take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete.

Q: What happens during the first therapy session?

A: The first session is typically dedicated to setting intentions for treatment and collecting general background information. This "get to know you" session focuses on understanding why you've decided to seek therapy. We will work together to determine treatment goals and discuss the frequency for your sessions.

Q: How long are sessions?

A: Individual sessions are 50 minutes.

Q: What is the average duration of treatment?

A: The duration of therapy depends on your individual circumstances and treatment goals. Most clients begin with weekly sessions for the first several weeks to build the therapeutic relationship and gain traction. As you progress, the frequency can be reduced to bi-weekly or monthly sessions based on your evolving needs.

Q: Are services covered by insurance?

A: While I am not in-network with any insurance providers, I can provide a Superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. It is your responsibility to submit the appropriate forms for reimbursement. I recommend checking with your provider to confirm your out-of-network benefits.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: At this time, I accept payments via credit card or cash (if in-person). Sessions are $150 each and are due at the time of session.
